A little about the game

Meet Hand Cricket

The playground cricket game you play with one hand. Show 1 to 6, score runs and match the batter to take a wicket. Beat a computer that learns your habits.

How to play Hand Cricket

Call the coin toss with Heads or Tails (or press H or T); if your call lands, you choose to bat or bowl first. Every ball, you and the computer show a number from 1 to 6 at the same time: tap a number or press 1 to 6. You have 12 seconds to choose, and when the clock runs out a random number is shown for you. Batting, you score the number you show, but if the bowler shows the same number you are out. Bowling, show the number you think the batter will pick: the same number takes the wicket. Each innings is one over (six balls) and one wicket, and the chasing side wins as soon as it passes the target. A tie goes to a one-ball Super Over each, repeated until someone wins. Win and a sharper opponent who keeps learning your habits is next; one loss ends the run.

A tip for your next run

The computer remembers your favourite numbers, what you show after each one and how you play under pressure, and sharper opponents use it more, so mix it up. Bowling, think about which big numbers the batter needs.

How do you play hand cricket?

Two players show a number from 1 to 6 at the same time. The batter scores the number they show, and if both show the same number the batter is out. In Hand Cricket each side bats one over of six balls with one wicket, and the side batting second wins as soon as it passes the target.

Can you play hand cricket online?

Yes. Hand Cricket runs free in your browser and you play against the computer: tap a number from 1 to 6 on every ball. There is nothing to download and no sign-up.

How does the toss work in Hand Cricket?

Call heads or tails and the coin is flipped, with an even chance of either face. If your call lands you choose to bat or bowl first; otherwise the computer chooses.

What happens if a hand cricket match is tied?

A tie goes to a Super Over: one ball each, with the side that batted second batting first. If that is tied too, another Super Over follows until someone wins.

How do you get a high score in Hand Cricket?

Every run you score is a point and every win adds 100, so the score comes from a long winning streak. Each win brings a sharper opponent that keeps learning which numbers you like, so mixing up your picks matters more as the streak grows.
