A little about the game

Meet Bus Traffic Fever

Drive a city bus through rush-hour traffic and pick up passengers. Swerve between four lanes, brake at every stop and reach the depot before the clock runs out.

How to play Bus Traffic Fever

The bus drives itself down a four-lane street and you steer it through the traffic, route after route. Keyboard: press Left or Right (or A and D) to change lane, one lane a press; hold Down, S or Space to brake. Touch: swipe left or right, or tap the left or right side of the road, to change lane, and hold the Brake button in the corner to slow down. Mouse: click the left or right side of the road to change lane. Slow to under 9 km/h in the right-hand lane inside a stop's yellow bay and hold still for a moment to board its passengers; you deliver them when you reach the depot. Hitting a vehicle, or running a red light or pedestrian crossing, is a dent: three dents end the run, and every depot repairs the bus. Traffic lights are on the road from the first route, and running out of the route's time ends the run. Rain falls from route 31, which lengthens your braking, and night falls from route 41. Swerve out of a vehicle's lane at the last moment, less than 0.6 seconds before you would hit it, and pass it for a near miss; near misses less than four seconds apart chain up to three times over. You score a point for every ten metres, 25 for a near miss, 20 for each passenger boarded, then at the depot 100 for each passenger delivered, 10 for every second left on the clock and 200 for a route with no dents. A new run can continue from every fifth route you reach.

A tip for your next run

Brake in good time for a stop or a red light, because the brakes bite less in the rain. Swerve late past a vehicle for a near miss, but look at the next lane first.

How do you play Bus Traffic Fever?

You steer a city bus down a four-lane street that scrolls by itself. Swipe or tap to change lane around the cars, vans and trucks ahead, hold the Brake button to slow down, stop at bus stops to pick up passengers and reach the depot before the clock runs out. Three dents end the run.

How many routes are there in Bus Traffic Fever?

The first 50 routes are tuned in five areas of ten: busy sunny streets with traffic lights and a route clock from the start, then rain from route 31 and night from route 41. After route 50 the routes keep getting a little faster and busier. A new run can continue from every fifth route you reach.

How do bus stops work in Bus Traffic Fever?

Every route has three to six stops, shown as a yellow bay in the right-hand lane. Drive into the bay, slow to under 9 km/h and hold still for a moment to board 3 to 9 passengers. You score 20 for each one boarded and 100 more for each one you deliver at the depot.

What happens if you hit traffic in Bus Traffic Fever?

Hitting a vehicle, or running a red light or pedestrian crossing, is a dent and breaks your near-miss chain. Three dents end the run, and the depot at the end of each route repairs the bus. A short grace period after a dent makes sure one crash only counts once.

What is a near miss in Bus Traffic Fever?

Swerve out of a vehicle's lane less than 0.6 seconds before you would hit it, then pass it, and you score 25 points. Near misses less than four seconds apart chain up to three times, so they are worth 25, then 50, then 75 points each.

Can you play Bus Traffic Fever on a phone?

Yes. Swipe left or right anywhere on the road, or tap its left or right side, to change lane, and hold the big Brake button in the bottom corner to slow down. It works in portrait and landscape in your browser, with no download.

Is Bus Traffic Fever free to play?

Yes. It is free in your browser with no download or sign-up, and it has no leaderboard. Your best score is saved on your own device.
